There may come a time when you want to add certain functionalities to your client portal, like a tracking script to analyze user behavior, or a chat widget to facilitate direct communication.

These customizations can help provide a more personalized and interactive experience for your clients. With an Agency plan on a custom domain with AhSuite, you can add these features easily via Google Tag Manager (GTM).

The beauty of GTM is that it offers a secure way of managing and deploying these scripts, balancing customization with convenience and safety.

Now, let's explore the steps to add GTM to your AhSuite client portal:

  1. Sign up for Google Tag Manager: Visit the Google Tag Manager website and sign up for a new account if you don't already have one.

  2. Create a New Container: After signing up, you will be prompted to create a new container. During this process, be sure to name it appropriately and select 'web' as your target platform.

  3. Copy the GTM Container ID: Upon agreeing to Google's terms, you will be presented with a code snippet. However, you only need to copy the GTM Container ID - a unique code beginning with "GTM-" followed by a series of numbers and letters.

  4. Input the GTM ID into AhSuite: Next, log into your AhSuite account and go to your profile settings. Find the "GTM Code" field in your agency details and paste your GTM Container ID there.

  5. Update Your Profile: Save these changes to your profile settings in AhSuite to ensure the GTM code is integrated.

  6. Verify GTM in Your Client Portal: Finally, you can check whether GTM has been successfully added to your client portal by viewing the source code of your portal. You should see your GTM code within the HTML.

By following these steps, you will have successfully added Google Tag Manager to your AhSuite client portal, allowing you to manage and deploy custom scripts securely.

Each script will need to be added as a new tag within your GTM account, and you'll need to define when the tag should be triggered. Be sure to submit (publish) your changes in GTM to activate them.

This simple process allows you to optimize and customize your client portals, giving your clients a more enriched and secure experience.
