You can share all sorts of things with your clients by adding it to a page in their portal. In this article I will show you how.

Creating a new Page

To get started with a new page:

  1. Select the portal you want to work on and go to the Pages tab.

  2. Click the “+ Page” button.

  3. Give your page a title and click Save.

Adding content to your Page

Pages can have text, questions, or limitless types of embedded content. Open a page to the page editor and you will see the following options:

  • Add Text: When you click the "Add Text" button a text field will appear with basic formatting options.

  • Add Questions: Click this button to include questions with your page. Question types are Paragraph, Multiple Choice, and Checkbox. Answers are stored with the questions in the page editor.

  • Embed url or code: You can incorporate videos, slide decks, or other iframe-compatible content by pasting an embed url or embed code into the url field in the page editor.

Tabs and categories

You have a couple of ways to organize your pages into collections.

  • Tabs: You can organize your page into tabs. This is useful for grouping related embeds or creating trainings with multiple steps.

  • Categories: If you click "Categorize" in the page editor, you can nest multiple pages under a submenu heading. See this sample portal for an example of categories creating submenus in the sidebar.

Visibility and access

Pages are automatically visible in the portal by default. To limit visibility, you have a couple of options:

  • Draft Mode: Clicking "Draft Mode" will hide the page from the client view.

  • Require Login: If you share a private link to the portal, visitors will be able to view the pages without logging in. But if you click "Require Login" then the page will only be accessible after the visitor enters their credentials.

Templates and reusability

You can streamline your workflow by saving pages as templates. You can create a page from a template individually, or you can set a template to be automatically added to new or existing clients.

To avoid inviting clients to an empty portal, it is a good idea to have a welcome page added by default. Your account comes pre-loaded with a "Your portal" page template that that you can modify or remove by visiting your My Templates page.

You can learn more about templates here.

Embedding content

Whether it's a YouTube video, Figma design, or anything else, embedding content is simple. All you have to do is paste in the embed url or code, and Ahsuite will format it so it fits nicely in the portal.

You can embed literally thousands of third party pages and applications. The only limiting factor is whether the page itself prohibits being viewed in an iframe.

For detailed steps on different embeds, visit our embedding guide here.

How Pages are listed in the portal

In your Portal Settings you have the option to list your pages in the sidebar or in a dropdown menu.

If you choose to list them in a dropdown menu, there will be a sidebar button named "Pages" and a dropdown menu will appear at the top of the page. You can edit the sidebar button in your profile settings.

Try both formats to see what works best in your portal.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

  • How do I create submenus? Click "Categorize" to nest your page under a submenu heading.

  • What if my embeds aren't displaying correctly? Ensure the embed code is iframe-compatible and correctly inserted into the page editor. Not all web pages can be viewed in an iframe. To check if a url can be iframed you can use this free Iframe Tester.
